What’s been wrought anew upon the anvil?
Herein shall I scribe the latest happenings within the forge, and perchance, the melodies that now stir mine ears.

Big news from the coop — Glitz, our golden comet hen (named by my fiancée), has been broody for about 2.5 weeks now. She’s nestled in tight on a clutch of eggs, feathers puffed up and full of purpose, ready to hatch her first little flock. She’s got that determined look in her eye, and honestly, she scares me.
It’s also the perfect time to tackle some overdue coop maintenance. The recent storms beat things up pretty good — bent panels, soggy bedding, and a few corners that need reinforcing. Fresh shavings, a few repairs, and a full reset should have the coop and run back in top shape.
Over in the goat yard, Hilux (our Nigerian Dwarf) has been on a mission to chase Georgie, our Saanen, across every square inch of the property. It’s like watching a stocky little 4x4 try to herd a luxury sedan — chaotic, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining. Georgie pretends he’s above it, but he always runs just slow enough to keep the game going.
It’s a bit of work, but these small, ridiculous moments are why we do it. Glitz is hatching tiny dinosaurs, the goats are stirring up trouble, and the homestead keeps rolling on.
I’ve officially cleared all of the early access content in Runescape: Dragonwilds. It’s been a solid experience — the gameplay shows much promise for an official release. Now I’m just sitting back, waiting for the next chapter to drop. Until then, it’s time to shift gears a bit.
I’m also getting ready for our yearly vacation, which is always a welcome reset. Bags aren’t packed yet, but the prep is underway. A break from the routine is definitely needed — even the forge needs to cool down sometimes.
On a more somber note, there’s been a small change around the homestead. We lost two of our chickens recently. They were part of the daily rhythm here, and their absence is definitely felt. Life keeps moving, but it hits a little harder when the quiet moments feel even quieter.
More updates soon — both from the forge and wherever the road leads next.
